2025 was a huge year for Millennium Kids Inc. Here is a timeline of some of some of the MK achievements.
January 2025:
- Co Founder and Co Director, Cat,received an Order of Australia Medal (General) for her work in the environmental education sector, with over 30 years of working with young people to have a say about the environment and action their projects.
June 2025:
- MK hosted,Taffy, who is studying Information Systems of Institut TeknologiSepuluh Nopembe, Java, as part of her University internship requirements. Taffy was a member of partner organisation Tunas Hijau and had taken part in various cross cultural programs with Millennium Kids prior to her internship.
- Youth Board member, Troy, represented Millennium Kids working alongside CRIN and FIDE delivering a training session in Warsaw, sharing aspects of our Agents of Climate Change program.
November 2025:
- Co Founder and Co Director, Cat, was awarded the Edith Cowan University Community and Impact Alumni Award for her work with Millennium Kids
October 2025:
- Youth Board member, Josh, presented his vision for the future at the Committee for Perth 2025 Summit. And yes, he talked about TREES.
- Our GreenLAB team participated in the Mandoon Bioblitz Festival in the hills.
- Co Founder and Co Director, Cat, was made a member of the Centre for People Planet and Place and took part in a Scholar in Residence Week to ‘ think-along- the- way” with other scholars.
December 2025:
- The Kids on Country program launched their Wake up the Snake Exhibition an ARC research project looking at the intergenerational Indigenous knowledge transfer
This research arises from a consortium of the University of Notre Dame Australia, Edith Cowan University, Millennium Kids, Pandanus Park Community, the Martuwarra Fitzroy River Council, Madjulla Inc, the WA Museum and the Water Corporation of Western Australia. It is financially supported (partially) by the following organisations: the Australian Government through the Australian Research Council’s Linkage Projects funding scheme.
