Council
The Council meets monthly to work with the Youth Board to help them understand the governance of running a not for profit and to help the Youth Board action their plans and ideas. There are 8 Council members who are 25 years and over and their job is to listen to the Kids. Millennium Kids has a Council because some of our Youth Board members are under 18 years. The Council supports the Youth Board by managing governance, duty of care and fiscal management.
Mentors
Mentoring is a really important part of the Millennium Kids process. Kids seek feedback from a range of mentors to ensure their project gets off the ground. We are looking for big kids, little kids and kids at heart to meet with our young people.
Mentoring can be as simple as donating an hour of time to join us at a Speed Mentoring session at one of our school based workshops or spend a little longer with a team developing an innovation that will change our world.
Alumni
Our Kids love meeting the Alumni, being inspired by their stories of making change. Our Kids didn’t want the Alumni to be just about Kids. They think the Alumni is anyone and everyone that has helped Millennium Kids since 1995 when we first started shaping the idea that Kids could have a say and run their own organisation.
