MK Lab – Cats and Other Critters

May 26 • 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Our MK Youth Board member, Elizabeth, has an action packed Lab for you.

The workshop is about cats and why we need to care for them to keep them healthy, but also to keep the native wildlife safe. I think this is important because at the moment, a lot of animals are killed by cats each day, and we need to take action on that. There are too few native animals in the world and Australia has a few of those, but they are getting less and less every day, which is a problem. A lovely lady called Dr Kayleigh Lange an Associate Veterinarian (BSc BVMS) from Perth cat hospital is coming to talk to us about how to keep domestic cats happy whilst also making sure they are safe and unable to kill any animals. We will also play a game about ‘Backyard Bandicoots’ which introduces some other important ideas about what threats our urban wildlife face.

Thanks to a Volunteer Grant we will be having a special thank you barbecue with our MK friends from around the state. Please let us know if you are coming by rsvp’ing to info@millenniumkids.com.au or calling 0418923968.
