Kids are concerned
Climate change is on the agenda.
What are we doing about it?
In 2021 we are running a series of training session with our young facilitators to learn about deliberative democracy, random sampling and facilitation. Our youth team are running youth forums across Western Australia to discuss the key climate change challenges in their area and spread the word about the Citizen Assembly process.
Over 250 young people from across Western Australia have submitted their ideas about the most important climate change challenges and our youth team have crafted a charge to discuss in the forums.
“How can we collectively tackle climate change while supporting our places to thrive?
What does this mean for the way we live and our environment?”

About the Assembly
In September 2022, our World First Kids’ Citizens Assembly, run by kids for kids, will be tasked with resolving the climate change challenges kids have prioritised.
100 randomly selected high schoolers will deliberate over 4 days to develop recommendations.
These will form the basis of an Action Plan, to be submitted to decision-makers. There will be youth follow-up to ensure these recommendations result in action
