1000 Actions for the Planet at Perth Mod

What a wonderful two days working with these young leaders. With a simulated UN Sustainable Development Goal meeting this team of young people outlined plans for their future – then created their step by step plans to achieving some short term goals. Their projects focussed on poverty, endangered species and waste education and the team at Perth Modern School wasted no time in pitching their ideas, researching the latest innovations and preparing a three page pitch deck.

Ideas focussed on education, behaviour change, community action,  innovation and design and rules and regulations. A simple activity they will run during Plastic Free July is a school ‘MAY THE FORK BE WITH YOU’ campaign with students bringing their own fork to school in an effort to reduce single use cutlery waste at the school.

The projects developed come under the banner of 1000 Actions for the Planet, with Millennium Kids aiming to create thousands of small changes in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Jacob meets the crew at Media on Mars.

May the fork be with you!
